Cindy after High School

Cindy went to Cabrillo College for a year. Then she transferred to BYU in Provo, Utah. She did well in school and she became a cheerleader at BYU. She got to take a lot of trips with her team. She went all over the mountain states, Hawaii, and to Japan. She met and fell in love with Rob Blake, one of the yell leaders.

Rob and Cindy got married in the Manti, Utah, Temple. Then they had a reception in Idaho Falls at his parents home in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Cindy broke her ankle in Idaho Falls and had a cast put on it. we went to Rob's for that reception. The next weekend was the reception at our house in Soquel. The theme was a Hawaiian wedding. The bridesmaids wore lavender dresses with leis and the guys wore draw string pants and blue flowered Hawaiian shirts and thongs. Rob wore white tails and thongs. Cindy had a beautiful white wedding dress and veil which she traded for flowers in her hair later. we made a grass roofed hut to serve the food. The cabana had the wedding cake and a tall fountain of drinks. The swimming pool was full of floating flowers. We had Hawaiian music going all the time. It was very beautiful. Toward the end of the reception, Rob thought it would be funny to dance Cindy into the swimming pool. Her dress was so heavy, it held her down. One of our friends pulled her out of the pool. Her hair was ruined, her cast on her ankle dissolved. Rob was soaking wet too. His mom was so embarrased. She said, "I didn't raise Rob to do things like that!" After Cindy put on dry clothes,Rob took her to the hospital to get a new cast on her leg. I'm surprised she didn't divorce him right then. They went to Hawaii for their honeymoon.

They went back to BYU in the fall. They had Amber on April 7. Rob graduated that semester. They moved back to the Santa Cruz area. They lived with us for a while. In about two years they had a little boy named Austin. Rob worked at various jobs in finance. Cindy had to work at Mervyns. It was really hard for her with two little kids. In another two years they had a little girl named Ashley. For a while they lived south of Aptos. We finally bought them a house on Bay Street in Santa Cruz. They finally moved to Pleasanton, 3178 Berkshire Ct.,  where Cindy did a preschool day care. While they were there, they had a boy named Adam. They lived there until after we moved to Oregon.
