Hunting Trip with Bob Cranston
Bob Cranston, the contractor that built our homes, and Dr. Tiberlaugh, an allergist, and I went to Nevada to hunt deer. Mark Cowley, Kaye's cousin was running Snow Valley Ranch for Stanley Ellison. We camped in a tent by the ranch house. It was between Elko and Winnemucca. There was a little bar in Midas near where we went hunting. I got a buck, so did Tiberlaugh. I can't remember if Bob got one. I sighted my gun in so it shot a little low and to the left. I told them that if it was running to the left I'd shoot for the neck and get it just right. That's exactly what happened. I brought the head home to cut off the antlers. The head was full of maggots when I went to saw the horns off. I'd saw a little bit and go out and throw up and continue to do that until the horns were off. I put the head in our garbage can and felt sorry for the garbage man.
