Cindy's Birth 10-31-57

When Kaye was nearly ready to have Cindy, R Adams came out to see us from Baltimore. We wanted the to baby to come while he was there. R, Marge, Kaye, Cathy and I took her over every bumpy road those few days, but nothing happened. On the evening that R had to fly back, Kaye's water broke. I had to take R to the airport, so we left Marge and Kaye at Wymount Village. When I got to the Salt Lake Airport, Uncle Stan was there. After R's plane left, Stan wanted to talk. He just kept talking and talking. It was several hours before I got back. Marge, and Kaye were ready to kill me. Kaye was in labor and I took her to the hospital. The next morning I was supposed to go with the livestock judging team to compete in San Francisco. They left without me while I stayed with Kaye while she had Cindy. She was born on Halloween, October 31st, 1957. After Kaye had the baby I caught a bus and caught up with the team in Reno. I was gone about 4 days at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. On the way home we stopped at Battle Mountain, Nevada and I bought Kaye some silver and turquoise Kataline dol earrings. I also brought home a flu bug. I got sick. I gave it to Mary. She got sick and Grandma Smith came down to help Kaye. She got sick, but luckily Kaye and Cathy and Cindy didn't get sick. When Kaye had Cindie, she dropped out of school and I graduated in December 1959.
