When I got there, I took my suitcase and started to walk toward a great big building. I thought it was BYU. When I got up there, it was a mental hospital. I should have just enrolled right then. Finally when I found the college the boy's dorms were old army barracks.
My roommate at the dorm was Winslow Young from Farmington, NW. Most of the guys didn't like him. The next semester I got a room in another dorm. Winslow followed me there. He was a good room mate. Many funny things happened at the dorm. There were two guys who kept ordering things for each other without the other guy knowing about it. Some examples were a giant airplane innertube, a treadle weaving machine, and other stuff. Soon two railroad detectives came looking for them for railroad fraud.
Another guy made telephone calls to very important people such as Peron in Argentina, Kruschow in Russia, and several other people. On Sunday mornings the phone rang in the dormitory and Krischov returned his call. The students collected enough money to call Krischov back and got to talk to his aide. There was a student in my dorm who used to study on the toilet, so the guy put clear cellophane paper across the toilet under the seat. When he used it, it made a big mess on him. Someone would set a little bomb off under the different dorms that would go off every night at 11:00 pm and woke everyone up. He was found out and expelled.
There were a few guys in my dorm how pledged the Val Norm Social Unit. One night they were doing hazed. They came in with plaster of paris in their hair and pubic hair. They spent the night in the showers breaking it off with pliers. One night some guys took one of the kid's VW's apart and put it on the roof of the dorm.
